Once capital of the Inca Empire, Cusco is steeped in history, tradition and legend. A journey through the Sacred Valley past Ollantaytambo and over the Malaga pass leads to the trailhead for a trek in the Cordillera Vilcabamba. Few visitors follow this magnificent route though a remote corner in the Peruvian Andes. The views are spectacular. After a short train ride, the trek concludes with walking the last few kilometres of the Inca trail, to venture out at Machu Pichu.
