Chile
Chile, lying between the Pacific Ocean and the high Andes
has one of the most varied landscapes in the world. The country is
never more than one hundred miles wide, yet stretches from the
Atacama desert in the north, down through to a more temperate zone
around Santiago, the capital, and Puerto Monnt, famous for its lake
district flanked by towering volcanoes. Down in the south of the
country lies a windswept land of sheep ranches, glaciers and fjords.
It is a truly magnificent country to explore.
